Zehnder ComfoClime 24/36, an innovative reversible air-to-air heat pump

Global warming and its consequences have, in recent years, given rise to three major areas of awareness around housing: the importance of indoor air quality, the consideration of summer comfort to address building overheating during periods of intense heat, and control of the energy bill, which remains a central issue. Zehnder addresses these challenges with an efficient, modular solution: Zehnder ComfoClime 24/36, a reversible air-to-air heat pump to be coupled with the ComfoAir Q range, suited to high-performance buildings.

Zehnder ComfoClime 24/36, high thermal performance serving comfort

By combining the Zehnder ComfoClime 24 or 36 reversible air-to-air heat pump with the Zehnder ComfoAir Q ventilation unit, users enjoy all the benefits of balanced ventilation with heat recovery and ensure thermal comfort throughout the year, while reducing their energy bill. The Zehnder ComfoClime reversible heat pump switches on or off automatically according to needs. The air supplied to the home is filtered and then heated or cooled according to measured parameters such as indoor/outdoor temperatures and the settings programmed by users.

During periods of intense heat, building overheating is therefore limited and heating demand is reduced in winter. Zehnder ComfoClime 36 can, for example, provide additional heating of up to 2.4 kW in winter and cooling of up to 2.5 kW in summer mode. To avoid thermal losses through ducts and maximize the impact of the ComfoClime 24/36, Zehnder offers ComfoTube Therm, a semi-rigid HDPE ventilation duct with a corrugated exterior, a smooth inner wall, and an insulating layer.

Cutting-edge technologies
Zehnder ComfoClime features Inverter technology and uses R32 gas, which is both ecologically and energy efficient. In addition, the air-to-air heat pump circuit is equipped with a bypass that optimizes frost protection, for which patents have been filed.

Optimized integration
To simplify the assembly and installation of Zehnder ComfoClime modules, the right-hand and left-hand versions are combined in the same unit. Moreover, stacking the Zehnder ComfoAir Q ventilation units and Zehnder ComfoClime limits the floor space required.

Ease of use
Zehnder ComfoClime generates its own local Wi-Fi network and can be controlled via a smartphone or tablet using the Zehnder ComfoClime app for more ergonomic and intuitive use.

Modular
The Zehnder ComfoClime module is backward compatible with ComfoAir Q units and with an insulated duct network already in place, without major modifications to the existing installation. An additional advantage for owners of Zehnder ComfoAir Q balanced ventilation (MVHR) systems.
