New Flotex planks collection: modularity and a wide variety of designs

With working patterns, customer journeys and shared uses changing, buildings must now combine flexibility, comfort and identity. In this context, modularity has become an essential lever for designing spaces that can evolve as needs change. Whether an office, a hotel, a shop or an educational project, every space is now expected to host multiple functions, support different uses and be reconfigured to meet the expectations of its occupants.
To meet these expectations, Forbo Flooring has rethought its Flotex planks flocked flooring collection. Renewed by 70 %, it brings together 14 designs, including 8 new ones, considerably widening the range of possibilities for architects, designers and interior fitters. Thanks to its modular format of 100 x 25 cm, the range makes it possible, within a single project, to create personalised environments, organise circulation routes and identify different functions.
A response to the new uses of buildings
Designers' expectations are no longer limited to technical performance alone. Flooring now plays a full part in the user experience, in the identity of spaces and in the legibility of layouts. It also helps enrich the architectural expression of projects by multiplying the possibilities for composing, personalising and staging spaces.
Thanks to its modularity and the richness of its designs, Flotex planks meets these new challenges. The many combinations of references, colours and patterns make it possible to create welcoming atmospheres in lobbies and reception areas, to give rhythm to walkways, to energise collaborative zones or to establish more subdued atmospheres devoted to calm and concentration.
This approach is particularly well suited to retail, hospitality and leisure, and office projects, where the quality of the user experience is now a real differentiating factor.
14 designs for unprecedented creative freedom
The new Flotex planks collection is built around 14 complementary designs whose diversity meets a wide variety of architectural intentions.
Fans of natural atmospheres will first find Seagrass, enriched with 2 new references (ebony and teak). Its linear, plant-inspired pattern stands out for its delicate textures and easy-to-match shades. The latest addition to the range, Sierra (with 4 variations: cascade, ravine, solano and canyon), combines nature-inspired textures and undulating lines to create a skilfully nuanced relief.
The Wood design welcomes 2 new colours (drift wood and cedar wood). Available in 10 references, this design offers a strikingly realistic interpretation of wood while benefiting from the performance of flocked flooring.
The mineral world is also expanding. Travertine makes its appearance with a timeless organic pattern whose fine streaks and subtle veining bring warmth and authenticity to installations. Alongside the 3 iconic Concrete designs (cloud, smoke and thunder), complemented by the new dusk, Neo concrete introduces touches of colour and geometric shapes that reinterpret the aesthetics of concrete with more personality. These material effects add rhythm to surfaces while remaining very understated.
The collection also gives an important place to designs intended to showcase volumes. The 12 references Ombré and Montage combine subtle gradients, crafted textures and perspective effects to create expressive, perfectly balanced schemes. The Converge family, for its part, is evolving with the arrival of Converge plain and its 20 coordinated references. The woven patterns are now combined with a palette of complementary plain colours that make it possible to organise routes, delineate uses or ensure harmonious transitions between different zones.
Finally, 4 new creations enrich the graphic offer. Calico revisits the aesthetics of woven textile through a relief pattern that brings warmth and depth. Panama echoes the world of tweed with a mosaic rich in nuance and character, blending crafted texture with an urban spirit. Intersect plays on the balance between geometric stripes and interlaced materials to produce a harmonious, contemporary composition. Serif, finally, draws on the world of typography to turn characters into geometric compositions that generate movement.
Thanks to this diversity of styles, Flotex planks gives specifiers a particularly comprehensive palette to personalise projects and strengthen their visual identity.
Flotex, the intelligent flooring
Beyond its decorative potential, Flotex remains a unique technical solution on the market, combining comfort, durability and ease of maintenance.
Its dense structure incorporates 80 million nylon 6.6 fibres per m2, implanted by electrostatic flocking. This technology gives it remarkable resistance to wear and heavy traffic while ensuring lasting walking comfort.
Its acoustic performance, with impact sound reduction of up to 21 dB, contributes to the well-being of occupants in high-traffic areas. Its slip-resistant surface also enhances user safety every day.
Waterproof, rot-proof and washable with water, Flotex also simplifies maintenance. Here again, its dense structure holds dust, allergens and dirt on the surface to make them easier to remove.
Certified by the British Allergy Foundation, it promotes better indoor air quality and is a particularly relevant solution for public buildings, offices, hotels and shared residences.
Available in rolls, planks and tiles, Flotex offers great installation flexibility thanks to glued, tackified or loose-lay solutions with Flotex next.
