VISION XXL by VEKA: imagining life on a grand scale becomes an attainable dream

Larger, slimmer, for more light and solar gain, yet just as high-performing... this is the new Vision XXL by VEKA window, launched by the system extruder on 17 October. Combining design and technology, this PVC window, a new definition of the category, matches the architectural style that favors large openings, while mastering the technical constraints linked to large dimensions.

By offering the Vision XXL by VEKA window to fabricators, VEKA enables them to design PVC windows with unmatched dimensions and long-lasting operation. The 70 mm VEKA range is thus enriched to meet new market expectations and modern architectural trends: large dimensions, large glazed area, enhanced performance, slim profiles, in white as well as in colors.

As a reminder, the 2012 thermal regulation (RT) aims to reduce energy consumption and to promote solar gain and daylight. To comply, specifiers must in particular design their projects with a glazed surface representing at least 1/6 of the living area. Rather than adding an opening to the building's architecture, they prefer to increase the size of the openings. This new situation entails constraints in the design of PVC windows. It is in this context that VEKA has patented a solution that makes it possible to design large openings without worrying about the dimensional constraints linked to technical requirements. And this holds true whatever the performance expected (air, water, wind; thermal; acoustic; security).

Building designers can now opt for large dimensions... for ever more design, light and solar gain
With dimensions 20 % greater than those of a standard PVC window, this new VEKA solution guarantees a 4 % gain in solar gain (Sw) and light transmission (TLw), for more brightness and daylight. Larger, this Vision XXL by VEKA window meets accessibility obligations by complying with the regulatory wheelchair-access (PMR) clearance.

Designed with the slimmest sash in the 70 mm VEKA range, while remaining protected from any deformation, this new window is also characterized by the slimness of its profiles.

For fabricators, the Vision XXL by VEKA window allows them to always provide the technical response suited to the dimensions and performance expected on a site, managing both expansion constraints and sash weight. The window's operation is made long-lasting, with no sagging of the sashes, by this technical solution, which also makes it possible to improve acoustic performance.

Among the applications of Vision XXL by VEKA, three examples characteristic of its benefits can be cited:
- Bringing a new dimension: with the slimmest sash, the dimensions and performance of the French window are increased and wheelchair-access clearance is ensured.
- Gaining glazed area: for the same window dimension, the slimmest sash in the 70 mm VEKA range replaces the French-window sash with lock for a larger glazed area and preserved wheelchair-access clearance. This means more light and solar gain in renovation.
- Increasing glazing load: with the slimmest sash in the 70 mm VEKA range, the single-sash window offers larger dimensions and better acoustic performance with a greater glazing load.
