Sanicondens SFA, the solution for neutralizing boiler condensate
SFA is wisely supporting the steady and growing market for condensing boilers, whether gas- or oil-fired. Thanks to so-called condensing technology, these low-energy-consumption generators deliver optimal energy performance, with efficiencies exceeding 100 %. However, when flue gases condense, acidic particles (condensate) form, which must be treated and neutralized before being discharged into the wastewater network or a septic tank. It is estimated that more than 5 m3 of acidic condensate are produced each year by a 25 kW oil-fired boiler in a single-family home, and that its acidity can drop to 3, with the corrosive damage it can cause to drainage pipes…
With the full range of its Sanicondens 2021 offer, comprising 6 complementary models, SFA ideally meets every configuration and every need, whether it is simple lifting, neutralization, or a combined lifting and neutralization unit. SFA also supplies these models with all the fixing accessories included and a new generation of granule refills, once again designed for great ease of installation and exemplary cleanliness during servicing. And the examples of applications are plentiful: boiler replacement in the same location (notably avoiding major plumbing rework on the heating and sanitary networks), a wall-mounted boiler built into a cupboard (and therefore too far from a drain), a boiler installed between two kitchen units but too far from the sink or dishwasher, or a generator located in a basement… There is a solution for everyone from the French lifting specialist since 1958, which as always advocates an absolutely discreet pipe with the smallest possible diameter.
This SFA model, with its sober, compact design (147 x 55 x 117 mm), blends easily into a kitchen or living space. Total discretion is also a priority during operation, at less than 25 dB(A), with an outlet connection of 8 or 10 mm, which ensures an almost invisible discharge path for the condensate. It is an ideal solution for lifting condensate from wall-mounted gas condensing boilers up to 6 meters vertically and 60 meters horizontally, for boilers up to 25 kW. Its flow rate reaches 10 l/h max with incoming water temperatures of 55 °C.
A compact, efficient, ready-to-use solution with two possible inlets (including a non-return valve) for lifting condensate from gas boilers, refrigerated display cases, air conditioners, air conditioner cassettes and dehumidifiers up to 4,5 m high and 50 m long. Compact, it is also quiet, operating at 45 dB(A). Sanicondens Eco accepts maximum incoming water temperatures of 85 °C. True to its in-house credo of making installation simple, SFA has made it possible to mount it on the floor or on the wall, as close as possible to the wall-mounted boiler. It is perfectly suited to gas boilers up to 50 kW and oil boilers up to 30 kW.
This model embodies all of SFA's lifting expertise, with all accessories supplied as standard for quick and easy installation: inlet and outlet adapters, power and alarm cables, and an alarm pre-connection. Sanicondens Pro includes a ready-to-wire connection to an external overflow switch that will shut down a mechanical system or alert the owner if the water level inside the unit rises too high. Like the rest of the Sanicondens range, the outlet diameter is small, at only 10 mm, for top performance: 4,5 m of vertical lift and 50 m horizontally. Accepting an incoming water temperature of 85 °C, it is equipped with a large tank (2,2 liters) to reduce the motor's start-up frequency and preserve it. Designed for gas boilers up to 50 kW and oil boilers up to 30 kW, Sanicondens Pro is supplied with a 1,5 m power cable and a 5 m discharge hose.
Specially developed for floor-standing boilers, Sanicondens Best Flat is the SFA solution that combines lifting and neutralization. The Sanicondens Best Flat has a low inlet and a tank with almost double the capacity to handle all boiler outputs (gas up to 80 kW and oil up to 50 kW). It combines a condensate lift pump and neutralization in a single unit, clearly saving space. Suitable for both residential and commercial sites, Sanicondens Best Flat is also recommended for air conditioning units, refrigerated display cases, etc. Note that Sanicondens Best Flat uses an integrated neutralizer to raise the pH of the acidic condensate before it can be discharged, thus preventing any corrosion. Its clean design incorporates two inlets, one on the side and the other on top. Condensate entering the system automatically activates a float mechanism which, in turn, starts the motor whose shaft drives the impeller. The condensate is thus neutralized as it comes into contact with the neutralizing pellets in the tray, before being safely pumped through a discharge pipe. For safety, the Sanicondens Best Flat includes a ready-to-wire connection to an external overflow switch that will shut down a mechanical system or alert the owner if the water level inside the unit rises too high. The 1,5 m alarm cable is also supplied as standard.
This SFA model stands out as the most discreet neutralization solution (15 cm high and less than 17 cm wide), with the condensate inlet on the side or on top, ideal for pairing with a boiler of up to 25 kW in a kitchen or living space. Easy to install, like the whole range, Sanineutral Mini offers simple monitoring of the granule level via a translucent window. In the same spirit, SFA has given it easy access, as it can be removed without having to disconnect the inlet pipes (from the boiler) and the outlet pipes for the treated condensate. Supplied with an integrated trap, granules and fixing brackets, Sanineutral Mini accepts incoming water temperatures of up to 60 °C.
Dedicated to gas boilers up to 50 kw and oil boilers up to 35 kW, Sanineutral is a perfect solution for generators located in a technical room. With a large volume of neutralizing granules (1,3 kg), Sanineutral works without a pump, can be mounted on the wall or the floor, and can be positioned upstream of a condensate pump (such as Sanicondens). SFA designed it with simplified maintenance in mind, with a transparent tray to check the condition of the granules and a lid that can be removed without disconnecting the pipes.
Always attentive to professionals and in order to simplify and facilitate the use of its solutions, SFA has just designed a granule refill supplied in a bottle with a large screw cap. All you need to do now is open your Sanicondens Best Flat, Sanineutral Mini or Sanineutral, break up the remaining granule agglomerate with a screwdriver, top up the granule level, and simply close the cap. It is an operation that is now as clean as it is easy, to be carried out once a year on average depending on the operating mode and output of the condensing boiler.
