Rector presents its range of Standardized Made-to-Order Beams for houses

On construction sites for single-family houses and grouped single-family houses, structural elements must be sized precisely and installed quickly. To help house builders improve their performance while reducing site lead times, Rector is expanding its range with Standardized Made-to-Order Beams (PCS). These beams offer higher performance than before, and their standardization optimizes design and manufacturing lead times.
A wide range with high mechanical performance
Available to order, Rector's Standardized Made-to-Order Beam (PCS) is a prefabricated prestressed concrete beam designed to address the requirements of substructure and upper-level construction (G+1) in new single-family houses and grouped single-family houses.
Available in 4 heights (20 x 20, 25 x 20, 30 x 20 and 35 x 20 cm) and in lengths from 0,60 to 6,50 m (from 10 in 10 cm), it comes in three types:
- composite beam with protruding stirrups without lip, for installation as a cross wall beam under a joist-and-block floor,
- composite beam with protruding stirrups with lip, for perimeter installation under a block floor. Lip heights vary according to floor thickness (17 or 20 cm),
- plain beam without protruding stirrups, for installation with no connection to the floor (for example, lintel or beam under roof framework).
Thanks to this wide range, the PCS beam can be used in all configurations (foundation ground beam, cross wall ground beam, floor beam, finished beam) and achieves higher mechanical performance than stock beams, with a span of up to 6,40 m. The PCS beam can be completed with Rector accessories to optimize thermal insulation (ThermoPoutre®, Thermorefend® thermal breaks) and to provide earth retention in the substructure.
A range compatible with the SIP substructure system
In substructures, the PCS beam range is combined with Rector's Prefabricated Infrastructure System (SIP), designed to assemble the foundations, substructure and floor in a single operation, particularly on difficult ground. The concrete spacers and EPS formwork intended to facilitate installation of the SIP system have been redesigned to fit all PCS beam dimensions perfectly.
Reduced delivery times and secure installation
Available to order, the PCS beam is pre-sized using charts. They are therefore clear and quick to use depending on the configuration of the house. The sizing is then confirmed by the Rector Design Office when the installation plan is produced. Upon receipt of the order confirming the details of the PCS elements (quantities and lengths), and subject to the workload of Rector's production sites, the systems can be delivered within 10 working days.
Easy to install, the PCS beam is delivered directly from a crane truck. Manual handling tasks, formwork and reinforcement steps are eliminated, saving time during installation.
For optimal safety during installation, Rector offers an optional safety kit, including:
- a clear and precise label for quick identification of each beam.
- lifting hooks painted red to make them easier to spot and avoid errors during lifting.
- red caps protecting each steel strand to prevent the risk of injury. These caps can remain in place when the beam is keyed in.
