New weberep rapide and weberep express repair mortars

New weberep rapide and weberep express repair mortars
Always keen to support building professionals in their daily work, Weber has just redesigned, based on feedback from the field, the formulation of two of its flagship repair mortars.

Gone is the dark colour that made repairs too visible: weberep rapide (R4 ) and weberep express (R3 ) now come in a light shade for a more aesthetic result. Their new composition also gives a finer grain for smoother finishes. Finally, the anti-corrosion technology built directly into the product, already present in weberep rapide, now also benefits weberep express, removing the need to passivate the reinforcing bars before applying the mortar. A Weber exclusive that means time savings, ease of application, site safety and lower costs!

More aesthetic, easier to apply and unique on the mortar market in terms of corrosion protection

It should be remembered that the vast majority of structural concrete repairs require a passivating agent to treat the reinforcing bars: a technical, costly and time-consuming operation that involves thoroughly cleaning the steel, then applying a thick coat of passivator and waiting for the product to dry before finally applying the repair mortar.

The specific feature of these two mortars' composition is that they include a corrosion inhibitor which, built into weberep rapide and weberep express, reduces the penetration of chloride ions (pollution, de-icing salt, sea spray, etc.) and increases the concrete's resistance to carbonation, the main causes of reinforcement corrosion, which can then swell until the concrete bursts, causing a loss of strength in the structure.

As the only fibre-reinforced anti-corrosion repair mortars on the market, weberep rapide and weberep express now come in a light colour, for an invisible tone-on-tone effect. And since they can also be used as finishing mortars, their finer grain (and therefore less visible) allows a smoother finish. Their low-dust formula, their perfect adhesion to the substrate and their excellent build-up thickness (up to 100 mm for the former and 70 mm for the latter) are also highly appreciated by craftsmen.

Note that weberep rapide, a structural repair mortar classified R4, is suitable for all types of spot repairs on concrete substrates, cement render, concrete block masonry, solid bricks and hard stone. Usable on horizontal, vertical and overhead surfaces, indoors and outdoors, weberep rapide is intended for above-ground, underground and even submerged structures. Weber particularly recommends weberep rapide for the repair of civil engineering structures and engineering works, as well as for filling spalls, stair nosings, holes, chases and core drill holes, but also for general sealing (fixing brackets or hinges) and the creation of tanking coves...

As for weberep express, a structural repair mortar classified R3, it is intended for repairs to industrial structures and buildings, offering neat work on concrete, brick, cement render and lime-cement render.
