Light and textures at the first photographic-inspired Parisian hotel

In the Montmartre district in Paris, we can find the Déclic Hotel, the first photo themed lodgings dedicated to photography techniques in France

Managed by the former director from the Seven Hotel, Karine Torneos, and belonging to the Maranatha Hotel Group, the Déclic Hotel opened its doors in February 2016, becoming the leader of a new generation of interactive themed hotels.

The interior designer, Sandrine Alouf, has been in charge of providing the building with a photographic atmosphere through a subtle set of images, lights and materials, for which the designer has relied on the products from the PORCELANOSA Grupo.

Photosensitive and interactive decoration

The hotel’s main feature is the use of old and modern photography techniques to offer guests an interactive experience, which is based on capturing images from the city.

This hotel has 18 rooms and 9 suites with a home automation system controlled by and from a tablet. The lighting allows for city scenes to be projected into the room, through the floor and walls, so that visitors can immortalize them and share them on social networks using the very same tablet.

Evocative images of clouds and a sky complete this dreamy landscape. They are the main attraction for the room’s atmosphere. Likewise, furniture, fabrics and prints make up a collection of unique pieces that manage to combine originality with decorative coherence, so that what really matters are the projected images of the city.

Spacious bathrooms for relaxing

In a hotel, bathroom comfort and its harmony with the rest of the decoration are a priority. For this reason, in the Déclic Hotel bathroom, space, originality and light combinations have been opted for.

For this reason, Sandrine Alouf firstly chose numerous Porcelanosa and Venis coverings for the decoration of the walls: the Crystal (White and Dark) ceramic tiles provide brightness, while Madison (Atracita and Plata), Cubica Negro and Pearls White create subtle reliefs, Manhattan (Negro and White) gives the illusion of miniature bricks, Minidual and Dual (Bianco, Nero and Damero) reproduce the motifs of a curved checkerboard, Hexcube provides originality with its bulging hexagonal forms, and Carrara Blanco and Portblack Marble are reminiscent of chic, elegant marble. A mosaic from L’Antic Colonial has also been used – Mini Iris Black Pearl – with its magnificent iridescent reflections. As for flooring, three types of Porcelanosa and Venis ceramic tiles have been used: Metalker with its rough metallic appearance; Carrara Blanco Natural with a Carrara marble effect; and Oxford Natural, one of the most impressive ceramic parquets.

The rooms have a shower and bathtub, the Architect shower trays from Systempool are those chosen with the aim of increasing the versatility and practicality of the space.

Finally, wall hung sanitaryware from the Noken Urban collection complete a bathroom design that looks for the comfort of its guests and the chromatic contrast between white and black, recalling one of the most important characteristics of classic photography.
