Komatsu Europe announces the new SubMonitor for its wheel loaders

We have taken all of this into account. Today we are proud to announce the arrival of the all-new Komatsu SubMonitor for wheel loaders. This system meets all your customers' expectations in a touchscreen, intuitive interface.

Intuitiveness has been a priority, as many functions have been brought together. SubMonitor thus creates a new interface allowing the user to interact with the machine's assistance systems, such as the extended Load-Pilot, a new rear camera system featuring a high-definition camera and an obstacle detector, as well as an all-new Efficiency Trainer module capable of boosting performance.

The ergonomic 12,1-inch touchscreen allows easy and intuitive operation. It reduces confusion and interruptions. It is therefore far more efficient than the intermediate systems that are all too common today.

Komatsu SubMonitor is the foundation of a new generation of functions offering unrivalled control, comfort and safety.

Extended Load-Pilot

The extended Load-Pilot is a proven weighing system. Its control functions and tools have been improved. As all the important elements are shown on the screen, settings can be made in a few clicks without having to browse the machine menu. The functions have been organised in a user-friendly way. Weighing results are accurate and fast thanks to the automatic tipping function. The material definition, productivity and efficiency displayed for the different materials promote smooth operation.

Efficiency Trainer

Efficiency Trainer is a new function that builds the operator's skills during real-world work in order to improve their performance and efficiency. Based on a new algorithm, the system automatically learns from each loading cycle. The benchmark is set by the operator, taking the different operating conditions into account. It is not set by the machine on the basis of established data. The assessment is based on several machine data points evaluated using a scoring system. As loading performance increases, the benchmark increases as well. If performance declines, shortcomings are indicated by criteria, and improvements are suggested.

Rear camera

Wheel loaders have to reverse for every loading cycle. Since there is no direct view from the cab, monitoring the rear is one of the most essential safety features. The new digital camera system combined with obstacle detection provides an ideal view of the situation behind the machine. The SubMonitor high-definition screen displays a clear and detailed image, while the obstacle detector warns the operator with audible and visual alerts.
