Freud develops circular saw blades for corded and cordless machines

The company Freud, an Italian manufacturer of high-end cutting tools, is expanding its range of circular saw blades with the launch of a new line for corded and cordless portable and semi-portable machines. With this new category of blades, Freud intends to become THE benchmark in its market by covering the widest possible range of applications while remaining compatible with the biggest tool brands. Since its founding in 1962, Freud has continually developed innovative technologies for its blades and invested in its factories, notably in new production equipment, in order to adapt to market developments. It thus has a broad offering with more than 1000 circular saw blade references, and covers all secondary wood processing applications, with a presence that has so far been particularly strong on stationary and semi-stationary machines.
With more than 250 references, the new range of circular saw blades, optimized for portable machines, is the most comprehensive on the market. Compatible with all major tool brands, it offers diameters from 120 to 355 mm and covers 8 applications: wood, construction timber, melamine panels, sandwich panels, HPL, fiber cement, aluminum and multi-material. For each application, Freud has developed new features to improve the performance and service life of the blades and of the tools' batteries.
- The tooth geometry and carbide grades have been optimized for each application to guarantee the best cutting quality and ensure great robustness and impact resistance.
- The PermaShield non-stick coating across the entire range. This high-tech red coating ensures high precision and long-lasting cutting performance. It reduces friction and protects the blade from corrosion.
- New anti-vibration slots: for quieter, smoother cutting with minimal vibration.
The major innovation of this new range of circular saw blades is the distinction made between blades for corded and cordless saws. Freud has indeed developed blades specially designed for battery-powered machines to improve their runtime. Unlike standard blades, they feature a thinner blade body and an adapted tooth pattern that eases cutting and considerably reduces friction with the material and jolts to the battery. As a result, battery runtime is optimized.
With a cordless tool market that is still developing but continues to grow, Freud aims to make the corded/cordless distinction a market standard. This new range benefits from completely redesigned packaging, intended to offer greater clarity and make it easier for users to choose. Each package indicates the material, the type of machine and all the technical information needed to choose the most suitable blade. Each package also features a QR code that directs the user to a micro-site dedicated to the range. A ?Selection Guide? that is unique on the market is available on the website www.freudtools.fr. This digital tool brings together all blade references. It offers various entry points: by machine type (cordless, corded, stationary, etc.), bore, materials, etc.
Freud blades are entirely produced at the Fagagna factory, located in the Udine region in north-east Italy. Its production capacity makes Freud the world's leading manufacturer of circular saw blades. One of Freud's great? features is its carbide plant in Martignacco. It is thus the only tool manufacturer to produce its own carbide in-house, which allows it to master and control its quality throughout the production cycle, from the supply of raw materials to the finished tools.
