DUOBLADE, Fischer's new self-drilling nylon plug

Fischer has opened a new era in the world of fastening with its Duoline range, a technological innovation that brings together all the best technical features. Fischer is expanding this range with the Duoblade plug, a new dual-material self-drilling plug with a self-drilling metal tip. This plug is designed for fastening lightweight items in single and even double plasterboard. It offers high performance in terms of load values and safety. With no need for pre-drilling, it makes installation easier and considerably reduces installation time.

A secure screw-in plug for easy and precise installation
The Duoblade fischer self-drilling plug is ideal for all interior fitting work and light-duty applications, such as hanging pictures, light fittings, smoke detectors, curtain rods, blinds, mirrors, shelves, etc. in single and double-layer plasterboard. It features the new design of the Duoline dual-material nylon plugs, with a compact shape and two colours (red and grey). The red polyethylene (PE) part, characteristic of the Duoline range, provides additional safety to the base body made of high-quality grey fischer nylon. It ensures the expansion effect when the screw is driven in, to withstand high load values, and guarantees a perfectly secure and lasting hold.

The self-drilling metal tip has three sharp blades, one of which is a centring blade. It allows easy, very precise and clean drilling without damaging the substrate. In addition, this tip is slightly angled so that the plug can be guided easily when installing in thin material.

The anti-rotation lugs prevent the plug from turning in the substrate during installation or any later removal of the items being fixed. They also increase load capacity in vertical fixings and optimise load distribution. For greater safety, the nylon body of the plug has a sharp self-tapping thread pitch that ensures good grip and optimal locking of the plug.

The flat collar allows for either pre-positioned or through-fixing installation. The PZ2 screw drive is common to the supplied screw and the driving tool: no need to change tools during installation. Like all the plugs in the Duoline range, the Duoblade fischer self-drilling plug also offers installation comfort, with a relatively low tightening torque that increases significantly at the end of the screwing process (locking). The user then feels the plug ?pulling in? and the sensation of locking. They are reassured and know that the plug has been correctly fitted and anchored. This is what is known as the ?feel good factor?.
