At Bauma, Kobelco presents its autonomous excavator and Engcon its tiltrotator

At Bauma 2019, Kobelco Construction Machinery, one of the world's largest manufacturers of hydraulic excavators, is presenting, in collaboration with Engcon and Leica Geosystems, an autonomous digging system with a tiltrotator.

Kobelco Construction Machinery Europe B.V. (KCME), Engcon and Leica Geosystems are presenting the very first digging system with a tiltrotator on a Kobelco excavator SK210LC-10. The system combines Leica Geosystems' 3DMC (3D Machine Control) technology with the Engcon tiltrotator.

Kobelco and Engcon, in collaboration with Leica Geosystems, have developed a system that makes it possible to control the vertical movements of the boom, as well as the position, tilt angle and rotation of the bucket, with a single movement of the control lever. It is a highly flexible system that allows the operator to choose between Auto Boom Control, Auto Bucket Control, Auto Tilt Control, Auto Rotation Control or a combination of whatever is needed for maximum control.
