AGC's Stratobel Security: glazing solutions focused on safety and security

AGC announces the availability of a new range dedicated to security, Stratobel Security, with references capable of withstanding physical attacks during robberies, gunfire (including heavy weapons) or explosions. Ideal solutions for retail stores, banks, prisons, public places and airports.
Stratobel, AGC's laminated glass, is an assembly of two or more sheets of glass bonded together by one or more plastic interlayers: polyvinyl butyral (PVB). In the event of breakage, the glazing therefore stays in place and acts as a barrier against intrusion.
To go even further in terms of protection, AGC has just developed the Stratobel Security range, a line of laminated safety glass designed for protection against break-ins, bullets and explosions. Generally used to protect places housing high-value goods such as banks, jewelers or museums, or to protect officials and celebrities, its applications now extend, following stricter security rules, to shopping centers, public places and tourist sites.
The range is divided into three categories: Stratobel Security Burglary (burglary resistance), Stratobel Security Bullet, dedicated to bullet resistance, and finally Stratobel Security Explosion, an ideal solution for protection against the pressure generated by explosions.
AGC announces innovations within its range of bullet-resistant laminated glazing 'Thermobel Stratobel Security Bullet'. The range is now complemented by 3 new certified products (from BR5 to BR6-NS), for which AGC has managed to optimize the reduction of the total thickness of each solution. Also in the bullet-resistant range, 5 products have been awarded the certification 'resistance to weapons such as the ?Kalashnikov’ or equivalent weapons'.
The range of explosion-resistant products is, for its part, expanded by 4 new certified references (from ER1-NS to ER4-S). It should be noted that AGC is supporting this range with a new service, Stratobel Security Explosion On Demand (made to measure), where specifiers and professionals can customize their glass or develop special products in collaboration with AGC's technical teams.
Available in large dimensions for use as monolithic or insulating glazing, these new Stratobel Security references also guarantee very good optical quality thanks to high light transmission, particularly when produced on highly transparent glass such as Planibel Clearvision. They can also be made in a variant on Planibel Linea Azzurra glass, with slightly bluish reflections.
In addition, these new Stratobel Security products offer excellent UV blocking and are perfectly suited to interior and exterior applications (such as facades). These glass products can combine security, solar control, thermal insulation and acoustic insulation in one single product. Finally, the ranges of insulating coated glass such as iplus, Stopray, ipasol, Stopsol, Sunergy and Energy can be assembled into laminated safety glass.
