Weber launches a range of adhesives for resilient floor coverings

A leader in tile adhesives and floor preparation solutions, Weber is extending its expertise to resilient and textile floor coverings such as PVC, carpet and linoleum: know-how that the manufacturer has already been deploying in several countries internationally for more than 5 years. Weber France is thus launching today a core range of 6 adhesives designed for resilient floor coverings.

Weberbond, the new range of adhesives for resilient floor coverings

Matthieu Bellet, Floor Range Manager at Weber, says: ?The floor covering market represents around 150 million m2 and is split as follows: 30% tiles, 30% PVC and linoleum, 30% carpet and 10% parquet. Already the leader in tile adhesives, we now want to meet the 60% of needs relating to the installation of resilient coverings, and we will also be rolling out an offer specifically dedicated to parquet during 2020.? 6 products are now offered by Weber to floor layers, to suit the widest possible range of configurations. All are solvent-free and hold the EC1+ and A+ labels (very low VOC emissions guaranteeing optimal indoor air quality).

The acrylic adhesive weberbond primo is mainly intended for the new-build market and has the advantage of being universal, able to bond PVC, carpet and linoleum alike. Suitable for underfloor heating, it is very easy to apply with a fine notched trowel on concrete, plaster or absorbent surfaces (slab, screed, levelling compound).

Another versatile product is weberbond star, which is suitable for both floors and walls. High-performance and universal (PVC, textile, LVT coverings, etc.), this adhesive has a high grab and great creep resistance. The fact that it can be applied to non-absorbent substrates (as well as absorbent ones), such as PVC on old PVC for example, makes it an ally of competitiveness on renovation sites. In contrast to this diversity of uses, weberbond lino and weberbond LVT carry their specialty in their name. Both are designed for absorbent surfaces, and it should be noted that weberbond LVT, fibre-reinforced to improve dimensional stability, offers a powerful immediate grab and good resistance to indentation.

The weberbond adhesive, ideal for bonding loose-lay tiles

weberbond grip is repositionable and ideal for bonding carpet or PVC tiles on a raised access floor, for example, making later removal of the coverings easier. This acrylic adhesive also shows excellent resistance to castor chairs.

As for weberbond contact, it is dedicated to coverings to be bonded on steps, risers and skirting returns, and is perfectly suited to a large number of substrates: absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces, wood, metal or even tiles.

A suitable system for every covering

Finally, it is worth highlighting Weber's expertise and the perfect complementarity of the many solutions it develops: screed, primer, levelling compound, adhesive... Weber truly supports tradespeople at every stage of any project. It should also be noted that during 2020, Weber will expand its range with complementary products such as parquet adhesives and dry adhesives.
