Viessmann Heat Pumps: A Tailor-Made, High-Performance Solution

Viessmann heat pumps: energy savings and high performance for optimal comfort
By harnessing the free, renewable energy extracted from the ground, groundwater or air, Viessmann heat pumps actively help to reduce fossil fuel consumption, preserve natural resources and limit emissions of C02.
Their operating principle makes it possible to extract and multiply the heat from the air, water or ground, and use it in the home via the heating system. For example, for 1 kWh consumed, Viessmann heat pumps produce and deliver between 3,5 and 5,5 kWh! This allows considerable savings, all the more so as their running costs are highly attractive: 4,1 cents/kWh, compared with 7,4 cents for heating oil and 5,1 cents for natural gas.
Further savings and optimal comfort: these Viessmann heat pumps can be controlled remotely via smartphone using the ViCare app, and can also use electricity self-generated by a photovoltaic system, since almost all of these Viessmann solutions are already Smart Grid compatible (intelligent electricity network).
Viessmann heat pumps also stand for great acoustic comfort, with very quiet operation. Viessmann's research and expertise have made it possible to drastically reduce low-frequency noise emissions, considered the most harmful, to reach the lowest levels on the market: for example, on the outdoor unit of the Vitocal 200, an emission level of 35 dB(A) in night mode at a distance of 3 metres.
Viessmann heat pumps: a solution for everyone
In new builds as well as in renovation of existing installations, Viessmann offers a wide range of heat pump solutions (air-source, geothermal and hybrid) that adapt perfectly to each project, always favouring the heat source best suited to local characteristics, the situation of the building and its heating needs.
Thus, while the air solution is an attractive investment, easy to implement and ideal for complementing an installation with an existing boiler, the ground heat source stands out for its high efficiency in cold climates, and its installation is accompanied by a soil study. Finally, the heat source using groundwater boasts extremely high performance and requires the quality of the groundwater to be taken into account.
Viessmann heat pumps: comfort in every season
In summer, temperatures inside buildings are generally higher than in the ground or groundwater. This time, they are used to cool the building naturally. Some Viessmann heat pump models (except air-to-water models) are in fact equipped with this passive cooling function called Natural Cooling, which, when combined with a few additional accessories, significantly lowers the indoor temperature of the building via the traditional heating circuit (radiators or underfloor heating). It should also be noted that the heat removed can in turn be used to heat domestic hot water or pool water.
Domestic hot water production: a benchmark, the Vitocal 060-A
Made in France, the Vitocal 060-A is intended for new builds and renovation, with an A+ energy class (currently the highest). Viessmann has also developed a particularly innovative enamelling process, in collaboration with the German Ministry of the Environment, to guarantee incomparable hygienic quality: thanks to health-neutral components, it prevents any migration of heavy metals into the domestic hot water, ensuring drinking-water quality from the very first draw-off.
Viessmann heat pump: a new-generation air/water range
Viessmann's range of air-source heat pumps has been given a makeover with the redesign of the Vitocal 200 range. Viessmann wanted to develop and produce all the components of its heat pumps, notably the outdoor units, and has thus become the only manufacturer to fully master their entire process. In addition to a unique design, Viessmann has delivered, with these new outdoor units, one of the lowest noise levels on the market.
As for products, the range is completed by the Vitocal 200-A (from 4 to 12 kW), a monobloc air-source heat pump with a COP of up to 5,0 at A7/W35. As the entire heat pump system is in the outdoor unit, the connection to the indoor unit is purely hydraulic. Installation is therefore easier, and a certificate of aptitude for handling refrigerants is no longer required. The indoor unit has all the design and compactness advantages typical of Viessmann.
Other new products: the Vitocal 200-S air/water split heat pumps (from 4 to 12 kW) are available in ?heating only? or ?heating and cooling? versions, particularly intended for the renovation of residential buildings. The Vitocal 222-S (4/14 kW for a COP of 5,0), for new builds and renovation, is a particularly compact solution.
Viessmann geothermal heat pumps
Geothermal heat pumps are solutions set to become widespread, notably with the planned end of the tax credit on condensing oil boilers, all the more so since 1er January, the tax credit base now includes the installation of geothermal systems (previously equipment only).
The Viessmann geothermal offering includes 4 models with outputs ranging from 5,6 to 34,4 kW. New build or renovation, heating only (Vitocal 200-G and 300-G), heating and domestic hot water production (Vitocal 222-G), or combined with a solar thermal system to heat domestic hot water (Vitocal 242-G), here again Viessmann offers an appropriate answer to every need, which can also benefit from the Natural Cooling option.
