The architecture studio, Aedificare, finished up being a finalist at the 10th PORCELANOSA Grupo Awards in Architecture and Interior Design by way of its project, ?Live Architecture?. Luana García Lameiro was the professional in charge of the design that quite simply breaks the mould. The project is situated in Cantabria, an ideal location where the purity and functionality of nature, as well as the most innovative design take place.
The project
The best inspiration source for architects and designers is nature and it is because of this that the architecture studio, Aedificare, banked on making nature blend into the work area itself. This way, one can achieve an innovative work concept that is full of aesthetic beauty which evokes purity, comfort and harmony.
Just as if it were a ?tree house?, the structure comes up from the ground through leaning columns which simulate the growth of trunks, and it revolves around a central tree which reminds us of the main purpose of this project: live architecture.
Regarding the perimetral windows, they allow for work to be done in contact with the environment from any area in the studio. In order to achieve a higher integration of the work space into nature, the project opts for natural materials from Gamadecor, such as the Seven and Tao wooden chairs; and the Tao stool. This way, the camouflage is absolute between the environment and the work space itself.
The materials
The materials used evoke nature and design. The Beige Decape natural wood by L’Antic Colonial, together with the finishes inspired by marble from the Nvy and XLIGHT Premium Kala White XLight extra-slim porcelain tile by Urbatek, provide the elegance and quality that are needed to make a contrast with the finish in concrete, which is a strong and representative element in the project. In order to achieve this look, two materials were chosen: The Dover Acero ceramic floor tile by Porcelanosa and the high-performance jointless Micro-Stuck Nature Cemente wall tile by Butech.
In the most creative aspect of this project, the KRION® Solid Surface mineral compact is present. One can find the acrylic stone by Systempool in the project, both in the furniture and lighting, thus, allowing for the creation of unique pieces thanks to its construction versatility.
Furthermore, in order to have the bathroom in line with the whole project, pure-styled equipment items were included, such as the Krabi Persian White floor-standing basin by L’Antic Colonial, along with the taps and sanitaryware by Noken.
?Live Architecture? is an architectural design which perfectly blends the purity of nature with an avant-garde touch. This way, those in charge of the project were able to create a structure which is adapted to the environment, as well as feeding off it, which is done by making use of all the materials offered by nature itself to inspire the best ideas and productivity at work.
A project that shows the purest and most innovative view of architecture through materials which, because of their natural composition, are full of touches and textures. It is in this way that the project achieves in creating a real work centre where creativity, nature and design all play a major role.
