Terex Compact Germany (Crailsheim) presents six new 1.4 to 3.7 tonne minibars at the bauma show. These models are characterized by a new design, a new workstation and a modern control system. Result, everything is in XL format: the excavation performance, the work station but also the comfort of use and maintenance. The models presented include TC14-2, TC16-2, TC19-2, TC22-2, TC35-2 and TC37-2. Other models will be ready for commercialization in the next 24 months. This is the most important development of new products ever made on the site of Crailsheim.
Excavation performance in XL format
Compared with conventional competitors, the new Terex machines offer an average of up to 20% more performance, especially during trenching, which is particularly fast. The mini excavators are equipped with a LUDV hydraulic system (load independent flow distribution), a system that is only available on very few models of this power class. The LUDV system allows the tool to deliver the power that matches the needs.
Even in the hardest soil, the bucket sinks forcefully and fills completely. Thanks to its conventional design, the machine is stable and does not pitch. For precise tool control (hammer or milling cutter), the second control circuit is electro-proportional (standard from TC22-2, optional on smaller models). The driver manipulates the tools with great fingertip thanks to a joystick (Terex Fingertip control), a specificity of the new minipelles because this equipment is found only on the excavators of higher category. An oversized diesel tank facilitates long-term work.
A workstation in XL format
The new models in the 1.5 tonne category are equipped with additional right-hand access, which is an advantage on road construction and improves communication and visibility on the right side. The new cabin in XL format offers all the space and comfort of a 3.5 tonne model. For fast access, the console retracts completely: the driver does not get stuck. The floor is characterized by a generous space, sufficient for people who wear the 48 or more. Moreover, the workstation adapts easily and precisely to the size of the driver. The large glass surfaces optimize the vision of the tool and the working environment. The caterpillar, in particular, is clearly visible in the lower right.
Ease of use in XL format
Intuitive control and safety make the machine particularly convenient. Terex's unique design features help to prevent damage: mounting the cylinder to the top prevents contact between the piston rod and the loading threshold when mounting on the truck. The KnickmatikTM cylinder is deliberately installed on the left, protected from damage due to collisions; The boom can pivot on both sides while providing the maximum depth of excavation.
Thanks to the automatic pivoting brake, it is impossible to forget to lock the turret for transport. The control is carried out via the Terex Fingertip control, a novelty in this category at Terex. On all models, special attention has been paid to ergonomics: for example, the lever of the blade integrates a speed regulator. This makes filling and leveling easier.
Maintenance comfort in XL format
To save time during daily maintenance, access is facilitated and the points of intervention are grouped together. The bonnet opens wide (upwards) and the daily control points can be accessed directly or via glasses. Direct refueling by means of a can or hose is particularly fast because the filling pipes are easily accessible. Our main objective? Reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
A new design
So everything would be new? Not quite. The Schaeff philosophy, the conventional design and short back, the KnickmatikTM cylinder and the cylinders above the boom were well preserved. But, overall, this is a new machine, whether it is the new cabin or high-performance brand components.
In the 1.5 tonne - 2 tonne segment, Terex now offers a model adapted to every need for equipment and power with four models, ranging from rental version to high end equipment for difficult sites. These machines are "Made in Germany". Thanks to the platform strategy, the Crailsheim plant manages to market its minipells at a competitive price.
