Bobcat launches a new range of rigid-frame telehandlers

Bobcat has just launched a new range of rigid-frame telehandlers, supplied with a three-year warranty as standard, for the construction and rental sectors.
Bobcat now offers 11 new telehandler models for the construction/rental markets, manufactured at the Bobcat plant in Pontchâteau (Loire-Atlantique) in France; these machines offer a lift capacity of between 2,6 and 4,1 t and a lift height of between 6 and 18 m.
For markets such as Europe, where emissions are heavily regulated, these telehandlers are fitted with the new Bobcat D34 Stage IV/Tier 4 Final diesel engine, developed in-house.
They have a new naming system incorporating their lift capacity/height and include the following models:
TL26.60 and TL30.60 compact telescopic loaders
TL35.70, T35.105, T35.105L and T36.120SL telehandlers offering medium lift heights
T35.130S and T35.140S telescopic handlers geared towards rental
T35.130SLP, T41.140SLP and T40.180SLP telescopic handlers offering high lift heights
Bobcat D34 Stage IV engine
The Bobcat D34 Stage IV engine was developed and manufactured in-house specifically for use on the new generation of Bobcat Stage IV rigid-frame telehandlers intended for the highly regulated EMEA markets.
The result is optimized performance across the whole range. The compactness of the D34 engine, combined with the new low-profile hood, improves visibility on the engine side, an important advantage for material handling work.
This Stage IV engine comes in two power levels:
- A 55,2 kW (75 CV) model offering economical operation, without diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) injection, and using only the diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) as after-treatment technology.
- A 74,5 kW (100 CV) model for heavy-duty operations, with the diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) with DEF injection as after-treatment technologies.
These engines share the same high-pressure common rail (HPCR) electronic injection technology, charge air management and cooled exhaust gas recirculation to reduce emissions.
They do not require a diesel particulate filter (DPF).
The new telehandlers also include a number of new features, such as an automatic parking brake with intuitive operation, similar to those used in the automotive industry, which provides improved safety and control.
Already available as standard on the TL26.60, TL30.60 and TL35.70 models offering lift heights up to 7 m, the other new feature is the ECO (fuel saving) mode, which is now also fitted to the larger Bobcat telehandlers offering lift heights of 10 m and above, i.e. all models from the T35.105 to the top-of-the-range T40.180SLP.
The ECO system, activated by a switch on the dashboard, maintains optimal hydraulic performance without using the engine's full power, by adjusting the machine's main characteristics to combine maximum performance with the best performance/fuel consumption ratio.
Construction and rental companies will appreciate the additional fuel savings offered by this feature, combined with the excellent lifting capacities of Bobcat telehandlers.
In addition to the automatic parking brake and ECO mode, there are other advanced features such as an optional double air-suspension seat, an optional automatic fan reverser, a standard beacon/reversing alarm and a boom damper on the three TL models
The new optional ventilation system, with automatic reversing, is electronically controlled to adjust the rotation speed according to temperatures and generate energy savings.
From the comfort of their mechanical or air-suspension seat, the operator has easy access to all the ergonomically arranged machine controls; they benefit in particular from a forward/neutral/reverse (F/N/R) control integrated into the joystick, a digital display, an adjustable steering wheel and an integrated air circulation solution.
Other performance features of this new range:
The TL26.60 and TL30.60 models are available in two different machine heights with a cab that can be mounted in two ways – in a low position resulting in a very low height of 2,1 m and in a high position to optimize visibility.
On the TL35.70 model, replacing the TL470, the load chart is significantly improved, offering an additional lift capacity of 500 kg (3 500 kg) at maximum lift height (6,97 m).
Various ingenious, proven and tested operating features are also offered as standard:
Speed Management System (SMS), which allows the travel speed to be adjusted independently of the engine speed.
Smart Handling System (SHS), which allows the speed of the boom movements (lifting, telescoping and tilting) to be adjusted according to the type of task to be performed.
Auxiliary Flow Management (AFM), which allows the hydraulic flow to be adjusted to suit the requirements of the attachment and a continuous flow to be set.
Fast Connect System (FCS), which allows quick and easy changing of hydraulic attachments with an integrated pressure release system.
