Protecting the scenic Garda by Bike cycle path in Lake Garda, Italy

Garda by Bike is a spectacular cycle path overlooking Lake Garda that connects three intersecting regions – Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige. Dynamic rockfall barriers were installed on the rock slope over the cycle path to intercept falling rock and boulders and protect cyclists and pedestrians. These barriers are able to intercept falling rocks with an energy absorption capacity of 3.000 kJ.
